STORYBOARDING A DEMO
By now, you've probably read some previews written about the BioShock 2 demo (and if you haven't, head over to our home page and get reading!) These articles give us a first look at BioShock 2, and our return to Rapture, but creating this first look isn't always easy. It's important to create a vivid, immersive, and above all true depiction of a fairly immense game -- all in a relatively short amount of time. To accomplish this daunting task, 2K Marin creates storyboards (they do this for pretty much everything, from levels to scenes to trailers and yes, even demos.) Through storyboards, they make sure that their message, and vision, is crystal clear from concept to final product.
From today forward, you'll be reading stories based off the final product born out of these storyboards, and seeing screenshots and gameplay taken out of this very demo. Each moment was carefully planned, drawn out and discussed, to tell you one of the first stories you'll hear from BioShock 2.
These are just a few of the many storyboards that went in to the first BioShock 2 demo, outlining an encounter with the Big Sister.
